Jon and Kahea first met when Jon was serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day Saints. During Jon's mission in Alaska, he was transfered to Kodiak Island. There he met Kahea for the first time. About two weeks after they met, Kahea left the Island and went to Arizona where she served a mission also. They both wrote letters back and forth until Jon went to Brigham Young University for school and Kahea went there to find out if he was Mr. Right!
