Kahea was born to Mervin and Emma
Kahumoku. She was born in the
Sacramento California area, but was raised on the island of Oahu in
Hawaii. There she attended Haleiwa Elementary and Waialua High School.
During high school she was a cheerleader. She was taught how to hula by
her mother at a young age and how to speak her Native tongue. After
graduation Kahea attended Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii. Due
to a job transfer the family moved to Hermiston Oregon for a year. Then
it was on up to Kodiak Alaska where the family is still located.
Kahea hopes to return to Hawaii soon to see family and old friends.
